Kenny West is the Executive Chef of Marbled & Fin Charleston; The Neighborhood Dining Group’s modern steakhouse located in the heart of the Charleston. Known for its polished fare and hospitality-driven ethos, Marbled & Fin offers Chef West the ideal stage to channel his passion for culinary craft, technique, and team building into a dining experience rooted in precision and warmth.
Born and raised in Clifton, New Jersey, West’s love of cooking began at home, cooking alongside his mother and discovering the joy of working with great ingredients. After realizing that food was more than a passion, he formally trained at the French Culinary Institute in New York City before continuing his studies at ALMA Scuola di Cucina Italiana in Colorno, Italy, an experience that broadened his perspective and helped shape the thoughtful, ingredient-driven style that guides him today.
Throughout his career, West has gravitated toward kitchens where mentorship and camaraderie are paramount. He considers his greatest accomplishments not single dishes or accolades, but the relationships he has built, the teams he has supported, and the young cooks he has watched grow. Bringing that philosophy to Charleston, a city he dreamed of cooking in since early in his career, West is energized by the abundance of local product, especially its standout seafood, and by the team collectively striving to elevate the steakhouse experience.
When he’s not in the kitchen, West can be found spending time with his wife and their three children, who he proudly calls his greatest support system and motivation.
